5 Reasons You Should Start Juicing RIGHT NOW

By Ash Stevens

The health industry is making billions of dollars on health products every year. So, naturally, anything and everything is claimed to be a magical, miraculous fix-all.

Juicing is one such fad that’s been adopted by health food stores and downtown shops, luring gym freaks, health nuts, and the rich and famous. But don’t be leery of juicing because of its steep price tag or the latest health confessions from Victoria’s Secret runway models. Juicing comes with five serious health perks that will have you rethinking your Christmas list.

Juicing Gives You Drinkable Vitamins!

Juicing offers the body vitamins, minerals, and enzymes of an armful of vegetables with no-chewing required. This incredible load of nutrients is absorbed by the body in a jiffy, and that means quick results. Unfortunately, juicing concentrates vitamins as well as sugar, so your fruit is better saved for a healthy-as-heck smoothie. If you want to add fruit to your juices, then stick with low sugar fruit or pair your drink with a high fiber snack.

Juicing = Energy

Thanks to it’s liquid form, the body doesn’t have to use precious time and energy digesting and extracting. A glass of juice is full of liquified calories, complex carbs, and vitamins, and they’re used by the body immediately. Juicing for health and energy can balance out blood sugar levels, energize the body, and produce a feeling of clear headedness.

Juicing Lets You Be Lazy

We all know we should be eating fruits and veggies every day, but that’s easier said than done in today’s world. But juicing makes it easy! Multiple servings of vegetables can be ingested with mere minutes of simple rinsing, slicing, and pressing. No cooking required!

Fresh juices are a magical option for busy travellers, picky children, and non-cookers, and more. Sure, we need to work healthy food into our day no matter what, but for those who would argue against juicings benefits, there’s one thing that’s for sure… We’re better off juicing than we are not juicing.

Juicing Fights The Cold & Flu

If you’re feeling sick, walk past the pharmacy department and beeline it to the produce section. Fresh juice takes immunity to new heights because of its concentration of vitamins and healthful compounds. The moment juice hits our belly, it begins to be absorbed by our bloodstream where it’s immediately put to work. Cells are given a compact shot of liquid vitamin A for T-cells, vitamin B6 for immune-boosting antibodies, vitamin C for white blood cells, and vitamin E for cellular protection. Even when your cold is already well underway, juicing can get your defenses vamped up so you’re feeling better in no time.

Juicing Can Fight Hangovers

In order for our body to process alcohol, our liver has to break it down into acetaldehyde, and then convert it into acetic acid. The good news is that the end-result of acetic acid is pretty much harmless. The bad news is that acetaldehyde is terribly toxic, and our liver can only metabolize about a drink per hour. Thus, the more we drink and the quicker we drink it, the more we poison our bodies. But have no fear! If you happen to indulge in holiday libations, your juicer can help with damage control. Vitamin C can boost liver detoxification, thus helping your body cleanup minor boozing faster and and more effectively.

It Heals Cancer!

Radiation or chemotherapy are being used to treat cancer, but fresh juice and healthy diets are being used to heal it. You’ll have a heck of a time finding a doctor doctor that will talk about juicing or alternative therapies (for various reasons explained by Dr. Mercola), but juicers are a staple in non-toxic treatments like the Gerson therapy and the Hallelujah Diet. Thousands of cancer survivors swear by it!

Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Thanks to juicing, the medicinal benefits of pounds of vegetables can be received in a single glass. That gives the body an enormous amount of nutrients to detoxify, restore, and repair the body. Using food as to “cure” the body may sound like a long shot, but there’s a reason cancer came about in the first place. That usually involves physical, mental, or emotional health — probably all three! When we make health a priority, we’re making the time to take care of ourselves. So juicing is a way for us to get a dose of vitamins and a little self-love. Who couldn’t use that?

Honestly, there’s an endless list of reasons to squeeze juicing into your day. Long story short, you’ll be healthier and happier and more productive. If you want to get the nitty-gritty details on juicing, check out Chris Wark’s juicing tips. That guy used juicing to heal himself of Stage III colon cancer — no chemo or radiation — so he knows a thing or two.

    You are wayyyy better off eating whole fruits. When you juice, you remove all of the fiber content and your body does it process it in the same way.
