Statement Walls

We all know that the home is a reflection of your personality. It’s your own personal canvas and with the right tools you can create spaces to thrive in. When it all boils down each room is a practical place and serves a distinct purpose but within those confines you have the capacity to create something that isn’t solely utilitarian. There are so many ways in which you can use design to highlight your own style. In this article we’re going to focus on creating statement walls to bring a little flair to the function.

There are few things that give your visitors and family an greater insight into your personality than your choice in reading materials. Using your books can be a way to make a double impact statement wall. There’s no end of ways to display your books. Perhaps you’re old school and creating an entire built-in wall to house your books is the way to go. If you’re a fan of some thing a bit more quirky why not try the look above?

There’s absolutely no reason that you need to be confined to a wall with just one or two colors. Don’t get me wrong, an accent wall of color on it’s own can make a big impact but an accent wall with multiple colors can make an amazing statement. This is a project you can totally tackle on your own that won’t take ages to achieve!

Remember when wallpaper was the worst?! Whole rooms decked out in horrible florals and designs that dated the home in a matter of just a few years weren’t uncommon. Today there are ways to embrace wallpaper in ways that can create a big impact on smaller spaces and with less expense. Quality wallpaper is going to cost you a bit but when you confine the application to just one wall you’re able to get so much more for your money. Creating an accent wall allows you to be bolder with your choices and allows you to swap out the look in a few years if you feel it’s starting to wear on you.

Who says you must hang only one or two pieces on the wall? Go nuts! If art is your thing then let it show. Make art from your art and you’ll be making a statement about your style and the things you love without saying one word.

Natural Elements

Natural elements are really on trend right now. Consider setting aside one wall in your bedroom or living space and covering it with wood flooring? Maybe set the bathroom off with a marble wall. There’s no end to what you can do when you incorporate nature into your home.
